PLATFORM POSITION
For far too long, Menifee has had no representation on the five seat Board of Directors for Valley-Wide Recreation and Parks District. Matt Duarte was the last Menifee resident and he left the board in 2018. This, despite the fact that 26 of Valley-Wide's 80+ parks are within or very near the city limits of Menifee. Valley-Wide collects fees through property taxes from most residents living east of Interstate 215. That's taxation without representation, one of the founding grievances our forefathers fought hard against almost 250 years ago.
I want to insure our voices are heard, and our concerns are addressed by the entire Valley-Wide Board. Menifee represents almost one-third of Valley-Wide's assets, and an even more significant portion of their funding, and we should have representation on their governing board.
Our platform for the Director Valley-Wide Recreation & Park District Division 4 focuses on transparency, community involvement, and effective leadership. With a commitment to serving our community, Christopher Carnes brings a vision of positive change and innovation.
ABOUT CHRISTOPHER CARNES
My family, wife Mary, and two sons, Nicholas and Jason, moved here in 1995. Both boys attended Menifee schools and played on various sports teams throughout the valley.
